Anita John, MBA
Anita John lives in Harlem, NY (the City that is so good someone named it twice). It is her God-given purpose to serve the people of God in the area of finance. Therefore, it is her honor to represent Griffin Capital’s commercial lending to churches and funeral homes. Her goal in life is to help others, so helping pastors is a bonus.
As a commercial mortgage underwriter for 9 years in affordable housing, Anita John knows that Pastors and community leaders are always seeking ways to provide economic development within their respective communities.
For over 20 years, Anita John has worked in varying capacities in the mortgage lending space as a trusted advisor. Her philosophy is simple and has served her well in business and in life, “under promise and over deliver.”
She is a Minister of Finance at Neighborhood of Affordable Homeless Housing, Inc.(a Housing Ministry for Single Homeless Women in New York). She holds a master’s degree in business administration from New York University’s Stern’s School of Business. She also holds a bachelor’s degree is in accounting from the University of the Virgin Islands (St. Thomas Campus).
She is blessed to have 2 adult daughters: Melissa, age 31, who is a Doctor. of Sports Medicine and Tiffany, age 24, mother of her 4-year-old grandson, Anthony. He is the apple of her eyes, and the reason why she works so hard.
In her spare time, she spends time with her family, and they find joy in laughter in being together. She also loves to watch movies and read. Her favorite quote is from J. C. Watts, “Character is doing the right thing when nobody’s looking. There are too many people who think that the only thing that’s right is to get by, and the only thing that’s wrong is to get caught.”
