Aaron J. Shingler
Aaron J Shingler is a native of Washington, D.C. and currently resides in Baltimore with his wife Barbara. He is the son of Reverend Arthur N. Shingler, Sr. founder of Enon Baptist Church of Washington D.C.
Aaron has over thirty-five years of commercial and investment banking experience, bringing financial resources to churches and businesses on a nation-wide basis. He is a recognized expert in originating and underwriting initial public offerings for First, Second and General Obligation Bonds and Commercial bank loans to churches.
Over the last 20 years, since being in the church financing arena, he has helped secure over $100,000,000 in capital for churches. Besides loans, he and his wife have recently helped establish a Church Endowment fund for an AMEC church in Havre De Grace, Maryland.
Currently, Aaron is an advocate consultant and partners with his wife (Barbara) who is a representative for Thrivent Financial, a Fortune 500 (ranked 335), Christian, Not-for-Profit, Financial Services Corporation.
Aaron J Shingler is one of the original founders of the Association of African American Financial Advisors.
Aaron’s expertise in finance and business development has been recognized in the “Wall Street Journal”, “USA Today”, “Black Enterprise”, and “Inc. Magazine”, “Baltimore Sun”, “Florida Times Union” and others.
He has a Bachelor of Science degree from Howard University and a Master of Business Administration Degree from Morgan State University, Baltimore Maryland. On August 2015, he was presented with the Honorary Doctorate of Financial Pedagogy by the Spirit of Faith Empowerment Ministries & Bible College.
Aaron is a member of Ebenezer AME Church in Baltimore, Maryland. He is the past President of the Lay Organization and a former Steward Board member. Currently Aaron teaches the Adult Sunday School class. He has been married to Barbara Hollis Shingler for more than 40 years.
