I ( Larry Hull ) am the owner of Tex Star Design Build, LLC in China Spring, Texas. My firm is a commercial construction company that was formed in 1995 and specializes in the design and construction and remodeling of churches. We offer our clients the opportunity to deal with one entity in the design, financing, and construction of their church facility.
In Texas, you are not required to utilize the services of an architect to design your facility. As a service to the church, if we construct their building, we will design their church building to their specifications and complete the drawings and obtain the necessary permits at no cost.
I also work with an engineering firm that specializes in the design and engineering services needed to construct the building in accordance with codes as required by the State of Texas and the city where the church is located. For a $1,000,000.00 facility, we can save the church approximately $80,000.00-$90,000.00 in design costs. If the church needs financing for their construction project, we utilize Griffin Capital to provide the capital needs for the church.
I have a BS degree in Business Administration from Oklahoma State University and an MBA from Southern California University. I spent twenty-two years in the U.S. Army, both on active duty and the National Guard and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1995.
I am married and have two adult daughters and two grandsons. My wife is an interior designer and designs all the interior finish-out work on the churches, in conjunction with the church building committee.
I accepted Christ when I was ten years old and have been active in church work ever since. I attend Columbus Avenue Baptist Church in Waco, Texas and am a deacon and teach a men’s Sunday School class.
In addition to my construction work, I have recently decided to contact churches about refinancing their existing debt, especially if the church utilized church bonds to finance their building. I used bonds at one time to assist the churches, before I discovered Griffin Capital. The bond programs are much more expensive as opposed to utilizing the resources of Griffin Capital, therefore, I can assist the churches in experiencing a great saving in their capital outlay.
